Karen Franklin is a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP) with over 10 years of experience and expertise in facilitating Interventions for Substance Abuse, Eating Disorders, Process Addictions, Mental Health Disorders and related Trauma. Ms. Franklin’s model of intervention provides guidance through the Intervention process and first year of recovery.

She has facilitated hundreds of interventions with families in Arizona, Nationally and Internationally while developing a high success rate of guiding clients and families toward long term recovery and success. Ms. Franklin has trained in all models of Intervention and facilitates Interventions for both men and women of all ages. Her trainers and mentors include Judith Landau, Ed Storti, Patricia Pike and Carey Davidson. Karen uses a blended Family Systemic style of Intervention while integrating Johnson and Invitational Intervention Models based on the individual case.

Post intervention, she has successfully teamed with families and organizations in coordination of strategic planning for patients leaving a residential treatment setting. Her one year of consulting services and her skill in working with families struggling from the impact of addiction helps families to heal and brings them back together.

Karen provides facilitation of therapeutic Intervention, treatment planning, case management and is a clinical liaison to both residential and outpatient treatment providers as well as private practice mental health professionals. Karen Has traveled to visit treatment centers all around the country. As an independent interventionist, Karen does not accept compensation from treatment centers to place clients. Treatment recommendations are based on an unbiased and ethical manner determined by the needs of the client.

Karen Franklin is also the co-author of the acclaimed book ADDICTED LIKE ME, A Mother-Daughter Story of Substance Abuse and Recovery as featured on ABC World News Tonight. In ADDICTED LIKE ME, Karen and her daughter share their personal story of the tragic effects of multi-generational addiction and provide inspiration and insight into the hope and healing that is possible when the cycle of addiction & trauma is broken through Intervention help and family recovery. She excels in working with Codependency & Family Systems affected by Addiction. Her own personal experience with the family disease of addiction combined with her professional training and credentialing in the field, gives her a unique perspective in educating and guiding families through one of the most difficult challenges a family can experience.
