Where I perform interventions:
I mostly conduct interventions in Utah and the intermountain west. I have also conducted interventions from California to New York and am willing to travel.
Background:
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therefore a clinician, so I have a strong background in both addiction and mental health issues. I have worked in various community mental health settings and spent 10 years working in a psychiatric hospital. I have been working as a therapist since 2000 and as an interventionist since 2012. I currently have an outpatient therapy practice where I work with individuals, couples, and families struggling with addiction.
Training and Credentials:
I received my Master of Social Work degree from New Mexico State University in 1997, and have been an LCSW since 2000.
I was trained in the ARISE Intervention with Continuing Care model in 2012 and have been practicing as an interventionist since that time. I am part of the core ARISE Intervention team and also am a trainer and supervisor for the ARISE network. I also am a Certified Intervention Professional and have been since 2014.
Intervention Style:
The ARISE Intervention and Continuing Care model is an invitational, non-confrontational family process style. We practice full transparency and invitation to the addicted individual which usually creates a non-confrontational family meeting. I also work with the family for 6 months or longer to not only facilitate the admissions of an addicted individual to a treatment program, but I assist the family with support and education, and also help keep the addicted individual in treatment and create a discharge plan.
Type of Interventions:
ARISE Intervention and Continuing Care.
