Barrett is devoted to helping those who are suffering with addiction, mental and behavioral health challenges. As a certified substance abuse counselor and interventionist who has worked in the substance abuse and mental health field for over 18 years, Barrett brings enthusiasm, understanding and patience to the recovery process and excitement to those who are embarking upon making a major life change. His gentle approach, kind and compassionate demeanor, and steadfast nature is a great source of calm, comfort and inspiration to action for individuals and families in crisis and/or navigating turmoil.

For families and friends, watching a loved one suffer with addiction and mental health is a terrifying ordeal filled with fragile feelings and fractured relationships. What can be intended as an outreach of support can quickly turn into distress, fighting, anger, and damage. The struggling individual can feel accused, betrayed, hurt and/or dismissed. At other times, both families and clients may minimize symptoms or deny that there is a problem all together.

Intervention is an opportunity for those who are in crisis and the people who love them to come together in a safe and supported way and carve out a path for healing. Weir Care Management facilitates intervention through a deliberate multi-stage approach of preparation, research and resourcing for treatment placement and care planning. We provide a container of support for both the family and client throughout the entire process, helping to navigate the difficult, troubling, or contradictory feelings that may arise without detracting from focusing on the health and well-being of the struggling individual.
