CDK Interventions, LLC
Approach
Carla believes intervention is a process, not simply a single event. Her work often begins by helping families understand what is happening within the family system, identify patterns that may be unintentionally maintaining the problem, establish healthy boundaries, and develop a clear plan for moving forward.
Using an individualized and collaborative approach, Carla works closely with families to determine the most appropriate intervention strategy for their circumstances. Whether through an invitational approach or a more structured intervention, her goal is to create an opportunity for meaningful change while preserving dignity, respect, and connection.
Experience
Carla works with individuals and families affected by substance use disorders, process addictions, co-occurring mental health concerns, and complex behavioral health situations. In addition to intervention services, she provides case management, recovery coaching, sober companionship, family support, and treatment navigation.
Her involvement can begin with the family’s initial crisis and continue through intervention planning, treatment placement, transition into care, and ongoing recovery support. She collaborates with treatment providers and other professionals to help families identify appropriate resources and create continuity throughout the recovery process.
Based in the Cincinnati area, Carla works with families throughout Ohio and travels nationwide for interventions and case management.
Carla also brings the perspective of lived recovery experience and an understanding of addiction’s impact on the entire family system. This combination of professional training and personal experience informs a style that is compassionate and approachable while remaining direct, structured, and accountable.
Education & Credentials
Carla is a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDCII), and Recovery Coach Professional (RCP). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Public Communications.
Her professional intervention training includes the CanAm intervention approach with Patricia Pike and training in the ARISE® model with Dr. Judith Landau. Her training in multiple intervention methodologies allows her to adapt the intervention process to the needs, circumstances, and dynamics of each individual family.
Philosophy
Carla believes families are often more powerful than they realize. When someone they love is struggling, fear and uncertainty can leave family members feeling as though they have no good options. Carla helps families move away from reacting to crisis and toward thoughtful, purposeful action.
Her role is to help families find clarity, establish appropriate boundaries, communicate effectively, and create a pathway toward treatment and recovery. Through education, advocacy, accountability, and compassionate support, Carla helps families move from crisis toward healthier relationships and lasting change.
